Snakepiss is a Detroit, MI-based producer of electronic music. His songs, constructed at night on bargain bin headphones, are breeding grounds for found noise, creeping beats and imaginary horror soundtracks, reflecting the neglected environment of a working class city. The debut from Chambray, a record label infatuated with Detroit's promise of a good life, sets the tone with "Toil/Dreampup," a double A-side pulled from the split personalities of Snakepiss. "Toil" is a haunting rhythm with a scattered beat, harkening the recent works of Raime and Burial. "Dreampup" is a punch of ugly, adrenaline-charged hip-hop, a love letter to both trap and J Dilla.
