A man compelled to speak to the world in a fresh and interesting way goes by the name, Kiiing Leo. His new EP, TH3 X FIL3S, is a five-track project that is sure to have fans learning the lyrics and intricacies of production the moment it's released. Although by the first glance of the title, one could assume what the EP is all about. But you would be wrong. Here's why. TH3 X FIL3S is the highly anticipated follow up to Leo's previous body of work, The God & The Aliens Watch Over Me. That project was a seven-track wavy neo-hip hop renaissance project that had Kiiing Leo's fans relating to him as kinfolk do. However, although the intergalactic theme carries over to this EP, Leo has elevated his sound, penmanship and flow. Taking him to another dimension, so to speak. This new project follows Kiiing Leo's journey through past, present and future life lessons. In Kiiing Leo's first track on the new EP, titled Frost Face, he brags about what he's attained and what he sees himself owning (present tense). However, the secondary notes he talks about are about the women he used to fool around with (past tense) and although those 'situationships' never panned out, he looks to his future with optimism and determination. The kick & 808 combo are the driving force in all of the tracks in the latest EP. This signature combination is the basis for a genre created by Kiiing Leo and his team called, Nu Slum Wav. "It's all in the bounce", Kiiing Leo says. The way the kick and 808s dance in between and around the main sonics of each track.
