Sevigney Avila better known by his stage name Petro Sonny was born June 25, 1996 in Las Vegas but moved to Tucson Arizona at 6 years old to live with a family member. Petro's Mom was a single parent who raised him. His Dad was incarcerated most of his life and committed suicide. He was on the run and facing 10 years. As Petro recounts, "This was very traumatic for me however I didn't have a bond with him so it was not hard for me to accept him passing and move on." Some artist that have influenced Petro "Lil Wayne, Future, Kodak Black, Tracy Chapman Michael Jackson." Petro started making music to "release and express the pain, joy, and beauty of living my lifestyle and to capture vibes people can identify with. Melody and music were ingrained in me since a young age and I taught myself how to play the kick drum at 14."
