Coming from the suburbs more exactly in Thiaroye Makhtar Sy is one of the first of his generation to have embraced hip hop culture in Senegal. Like most pioneers, he started with the breakdance and the Smurf, and in 1988 he discovered his passion for rhymes and rhythm... In 1990, with the complicity of his associates Matador, Manu, Ben Khatab and DJ Woozle he created the BMG which was originally the Black Movement Gang and was changed three years later to Bokk Meunmeun Gueustou. From 1993 to 1998, the band performed on many stages in West Africa and won the CCF rap competition and the long-awaited J-Hardcore album was finally released in 1998. A year after the release of J-Hardcore, Makhtar Le Kagoulard leaves the BMG and joins forces with his childhood friend Deug Iba and launches the single 100 comments through the D-KILL RAP compilation, a hit by the way. In 2000, he joined the famous Rapadio group already composed of Keyti and Deug Iba and Bibson. They thus release Soldarru Mbedd (Soldats de la rue), a classic that has earned them an immeasurable success, thanks to its themes, lyrics, political and cultural commitment, but also their value as critics, which has changed a lot in the hip-hop galsen movement. In 2003, Le Kagoulard left Senegal to go to the west where he stayed for a year before flying to Uncle Sam's country. From there, he follows the evolution of Senegalese hip hop. In 2007, after a strong demand from the fans, he decided to return with a first and last solo: SeeneMafia. Makhtar the Kagoulard will release his first album called «SeneMafia» awaited by the public under the UK-RECORDS label created by his Jeune frere Sab SY. The work will be released in physical and local distribution on January 11, 2010, and will then be released in Digitale on 07-20,2019. An album that is part of the classic of the Hip Hop Senegal.
