"Salt" is the fourth single from silky-voiced Woodbridge, ON crooner Chris LaRocca's 2019 EP Saudade. The songwriter and producer has already had his music highlighted by FADER, Complex, Noisey, Beats1, Nylon and many more. A master of deeply personal contemporary R&B, Chris' second project Saudade is due July 17, a collection of sultry, summer anthems and universal laments of lost love. "Salt" is a smooth ballad that conjures a mixture of John Mayer and John Legend, perfect for sticky summer nights. Says Chris on "Salt": "This song touches on the nostalgia that I feel for people that have come and gone in my life. I was aiming to explain the feeling of seeing a person intensely for a short period of time, and then when things fizzle out or something dramatic happens, never speaking to them or seeing them again. I also wanted to shed light on the melancholic feeling I get when I think back to these times, and how such short lived relationships and flings have had such lasting effects on me."
