BIIANCO
Life As We Know It Now is a single and music video written, produced and shot by LA-based indie electronic producer, BIIANCO, all from her home during the Covid-19 quarantine. BIIANCO was inspired to write the song after inviting fans to participate in a slam poetry / lyrics writing exercise on Instagram. "I told fans to post their poetry and lyrics about isolation on an Instagram post and I would comment back with improvised lyrics in response to them. We went back and forth in the comments where all these incredibly talented people were posting all these gorgeous stanzas and I kept coming back to the phrase 'What's that noise?' And 'What's that sound?' in my replies to them. I ended up incorporating that phrase as the epicenter of the pre-chorus lyrics." BIIANCO wrote and produced the song from her home studio during quarantine and then went on to shoot an entire music video from her home and street using only an iPhone and a broken mini DV camera. The video centers around time lapse videos she shot while going about her work days from home. "I really wanted to capture the banal heartbreak that has sort of snuck up on me during this isolation. Human beings are not meant to be alone for this long. I ended up leaving my phone running recording time lapse videos of my quarantine day-to-day activities so there are a lot of really raw moments that I captured when my loneliness overwhelmed me. The hardest day of this thus far has definitely been my birthday. Some of the sad footage you see in the video was from the actual day of my birthday where I realized how much I missed human interaction the most."
