After years performing under the moniker Trip Pony & playing in the family band The Sami Sisters, Priya Sami unveils 'Keep On Explaining' her debut single as simply PRIYA. A surreal & dreamy alt-R&B track produced by local legend Jeremy Toy (Leonard Charles, She's So Rad, Opensouls), the tune is laced with reversed guitar licks, unusual counterpoint and an enigmatic Indian vocal sample. This sample was recorded in a hotel room in Vizianagaram with vocalists Durga Bhavani, Swathi Krishnaswami and Maheswara Rao last year, when Sami travelled to India to connect with her Fijian / Indian ancestry by learning the basics of South Indian Traditional Carnatic Singing. PRIYA is set to release her debut full-length album later this year.
