After making his debut on Correspondant last year with the incredible 'Manthony', Juan Maclean returns with another immersive, deep space funk trip: 'I Want The Night' Close friend and kindred spirit of Jennifer Cardini's label for many years, the NYC artist once again presses all the right buttons at all the right moments. Teaming up with long-time collaborator Monika Heidemann for two of the tracks, 'I Want The Night' and 'Connected' pump soulfully and emotionally just as much as they do cosmically as Monika purrs and drawls her vocals in perfect harmony with Juan's driven-but-forever-unhurried beats. Elsewhere 'Wipeout' is a one-way ticket to peaktime while remixes from Correspondant familiar Terr and recently rebooted cult NYC act Dorothy's Fortress both make MacLean gleam in two very different ways.
