It was a transformational moment on the dancefloor that inspired Frank Nitty to become a dance music DJ in 1993. And ever since he has sought to provide those same moments for thousands of dancers as one of the pivotal members of the storied San Francisco dance music community. A tried and true crowd favorite and a verifiable turntable technician, Frank has spent the last 25 years spreading his love of bass heavy beats via his sub thumping DJ sets, his consistent work as a promoter and radio personality on the legendary House Nation. An artist whose career spans three generations of the rave movement, he has been a pillar of the scene since its earliest days. As a part of the legendary Ghostribe Krew he helped establish the dance music scene in San Francisco by spinning at and promoting some of the earliest massive events. As the crowds and the music changed, Frank continued to evolve alongside the scene as he helped guide a new generation of promoters in continuing the work that he had helped lay the foundation for. In 2016 he finally decided to push forward in to the realm of production. With half a lifetime of experience behind the decks, it was an easy transition to the role of producer. The last year has been spent putting together his debut album Separate the Real to be released on Vibrance Recordings. The 13 track LP sees Frank coming full circle with his sound reincorporating the bass heavy broken beat sounds that first led him to the dance floor.
