The artist of Saint-Pie X makes us rediscover the neighborhood in his own way. BLOC BOY is the summary of a day in the life of the beloved child of the HLM. Biography Jay Jay: Of Congolese origin and the youngest of a family of six children, Jay Jay is a charismatic, refreshing bomb with the air of a rough diamond. It's also the story of a neighborhood. Born in the St-Pie X sector of Limoilou and deeply influenced by what surrounds him, the artist depicts his reality with talent, finesse and lucidity. "There were grown-ups who did rap, but they were grown-ups", he admits, spontaneously. On the verge of adolescence at the age of twelve, Jay Jay is obviously an exception. With his head constantly in the writing process, the newcomer catches ideas as they come to him. He otherwise divides his time between the school benches, the basketball court, and his mother's restaurant, where he'll pitch in for money or candy. A player with a versatile flow, Jay Jay is a worker. His first two singles - the solid "Malewa" and "Frerots" - anchor his message and introduce him to the general public. On BLOC 2000, produced by Christophe Martin and Souldia, we'll rap about what's important to the young man: his neighborhood, his friends, his origins and, above all, the love and respect he has for his loved ones.
