526 is a project inspired by and dedicated to the memory and life of my late brother who was born May 26th and passed away May 12th, 2018. This project is a combination of emotions which followed his death. Frustration, self-reflection, introspection about why do I create? This project is comprised of songs which were written and recorded starting with "For the Record" pt.II ."For the Record" is my plea for everything to be ok when I first got news of my brother needing emergency open heart surgery. With the overwhelming pain that I was feeling and the unfiltered expression which I was experiencing, revealed to me a voice which I had not previously had artistically. No longer concerned with what I felt the public wanted to hear, or what I need to say to be accepted by the music industry, I found what really mattered to me going forward. What mattered to me was what I had to say to the rest of the world. As I embraced the new reality that was my life, I also embraced my position in music. As a Hip-Hop Statesmen, my subject matter was no longer based on any trends or current subject matter. All I was interested in doing was filling what I felt was a void in Hip Hop culture; that of those whom were raised with a love for the culture, and made it out of the streets, from the blocks to the boardrooms. What I've found in this journey is whether young or old, some things in Hip Hop surpass age and generation. The love for music and the freedom of expression that comes with the culture.
