BUILT FOR THE PROCESS is Gusto's debut mixtape and his fourth release followed by his first three short EP's , WALK ME THROUGH IT , C.R.E.A.M & UNRELEASED STRAINS FOR KEEPS. The mixtapes theme is a declaration to himself and to his audience that despite all the day to day challenges he may face be it family issues, financial or personal issues, he understands that the journey to success is an extremely long one. In essence this is what inspired the title of the mixtape (B4TP). Being built for the process in a different light means being mentally , emotionally, physically and spiritually prepared for all the challenges one constantly encounters on the journey to success.The mixtape is also a conceptual project that details the life of an upcoming rapper. The projects purpose according to Gusto, would be to serve as a voice to many other upcoming creatives in South Africa who are dealing with personal hardships that are hindering them from reaching their true potential. Gusto started his music journey at the age of seventeen and released his first EP WALK ME THROUGH IT in November 2017. Following his first project came two other short EP's titled, C.R.E.A.M , which was released on all digital streaming services in 2019 as well as UNRELEASED STRAINS FOR KEEPS which was released only on SoundCloud the following year September 2020. This year he releases his first mixtape and opens up on a more personal level about the six years spent on the come up trying to make a name for himself in the streets of Kempton Park and the music industry. The exploring of new sounds on the production of the project gives the mixtape a New Authentic Hip Hop/Rap sound which very much still has that old school Hip Hop feel. His ability to story tell and use his melodic style and approach on atmospheric beats as a backdrop for being a dreamer , is a declaration of the birth of NEW South African Hip Hop/Rap Music.
