Known as the "Sonera del Caribe", Canelita sings Cuban music and boleros, being "Besos brujos", "Quiereme", "Noche Triunfal" and "Canto a la Guaira" some of the most prevalent in her career. She worked with international orchestras such as La Sonora Matancera (Cuba, 1924), El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico, 1962), Fania All Star (New York, USA, 1968), La Sonora Poncena (Puerto Rico, 1954 ) and sang with Johnny Pacheco (1935), Celia Cruz (1925-2003), Oscar D'Leon (1943) and Jose Mangual Jr. (1948). In 2018, at 65 years of age, she performed in the Aula Magna of the UCV, together with the "Orquesta Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho". In addition, singers such as Trina Medina, Goyo Reyna, Veronica Rey, Alfredo Naranjo and Floria Marquez gathered on the same stage to pay tribute to her. Canelita is a living legend from Venezuela and one of the greats on the international scene.
