" Edd Gibson (Friendly Fires), Lea Lea (!!!) and Orlando Leopard (Arthur Beatrice) formed an eponymous trio in 2020, connected by many of the same ideas that defined the expedition." Acali; a social experiment conducted in 1973 which tested the adversity of a group of strangers - 6 women and 5 men - from different races, cultures and religions, as they sailed across the Atlantic on a 12 x 7 meter raft. The relationships of the crew were documented throughout the 101-day voyage as they grew closer together and came to depend on each other for survival. The expedition became a beautiful demonstration of unity, kindness and the power of equality. It's no surprise that the story of this voyage continues to inspire many people today: everything the experiment proved is as relevant now as it was then.
