[K]NEW*STAIN
Like a breath of fresh air, MARSHALL STAIN breezes in with a tastefully crafted debut project titled " VILLAIN YOU LOVE ". From the perspective of the villain, Marshall gracefully tells the tale of a man spoiled for choice. An Afro fusion offering of varying influences. A crucible of Amapiano, Afrobeats, Dancehall, to Reggaeton, New Age, R&B, and soulful jazz. On the opening track, titled "offer, " Marshall melodically, contemplates the pros and cons of an intimate relationship. Going into the second song, Marshall , pens, a sing-along, where he details how, being without him, would affect his significant other. Such a circumstance would have her walking around like the title of the second song a "Zombie." On track three he ponders the life he will be leaving behind if he were to submit to a romantic relationship. He reminisces on the youthful night life of the stains and the potions, juxtaposed to a committed relationship. Following the through-line of the villain, everyone loves, on track four, Marshall listens to the ego and explains how a partner he's lead on just won't leave him alone. The closing track has Marshall going into how she shouldn't fall for him because all he needs is ' company ' on his journey to his dreams. A crescendoed ending to a sonically adventurous piece. ⁃ VYL
