Anna Prior is more than just the drummer in globally successful band Metronomy, she's a DJ and musician in her own right. Anna's monthly radio show, Beat Palace, on London's Soho Radio has many devoted listeners. She describes her show as an explorative mission into the rhythmical unknown. The same can be said of her DJ sets and live performances. Anna began her career in music 20 years ago, perfecting her craft and gaining invaluable experience as a performer in the live music scene - more notably with Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange and with her friends and co-conspirators Metronomy, with whom she has been going steady for over a decade. The desire to start her own label had been brewing over the many years she spent on the other side of the music industry. Curious about this mysterious other world and becoming more and more inspired by the music she played on her radio show, Anna took the plunge in 2021 and founded Beat Palace Records. With the label's logo being designed by her sister, Kate Prior; photography for her debut release taken by Cristiana Morais; a music video directed by Lydie Barbara and with an upcoming remix by the Portuguese producer Violet, it's easy to understand where Anna's intentions lie. 'Thank You For Nothing (Moullinex Remix)' is the companion to Anna Prior's debut single of the same name. The selection of Lisbon-based producer Moullinex, who has helmed remixes and collaborations with Robyn, Royskopp and Koffee, to continue Anna's vision of the original track showcases her curatorial strengths as Moullinex delivers a darker and bass-heavy remix with a lingering dance beat. Whilst the original track focused on the journey of Anna's disappointment at an unrequited romance and having the strength to walk away, the remix feels like the final rite of passage to let go during the heat of the night. 'Thank You For Nothing (Moullinex Remix)' will be released on Beat Palace Records on 19th August 2021. It is the second release on the label.
