London-born Rosa Cecilia announces the release of her debut EP 'Take None'. The overall tone of the EP is inspired by elements of conflict; emotional, political and cultural as each track deals with a form of tension between two existing bodies or emotional states. This tone stems from Cecilia's desire to tackle the many conflicts, crossroads and dilemmas people in their 20s are faced with. Her bisexuality and bi-ethnicity (Latino & European) also sit at the core of her internal conflicts and juxtapositions as she grows and attempts to grapple with her own autonomy as a 20-something, multifaceted individual. 'Take None' is a play on words of 'take one' - this being her debut EP - but also an imperative statement directing the world to take none of this cemented autonomy. The first two tracks are mid-tempo grooves inspired by 90s neo soul and 2021's lofi hiphop motives and are followed by a one minute Latin bossa nova interlude 'Runaway' which marks a change in production. This change sees slower tempos featuring live jazz track 'Paradise' and R&B ballad 'Ambidextrous' which fade out accompanied by live piano and vocals on 'Contradictory' an outro which sums up the disparital tone of 'Take None' as Cecilia aims to leave a jazz-influenced mark in the listener's memory of her debut.
