OBOY is a 22-year-old rapper from Villeneuve- Saint-Georges in the southern suburbs of Paris. A fan of a melancholic rap with nonchalant flow and gliding beats, he is THE new rising star of French rap, with clear references: Asap Ferg, Travis Scott, or Asap Rocky. He won in 2017 with the release of his first project OLYSIDE and the title Cobra (+8M of streams), and caused a sensation in March 2018 with SOUTHSIDE, a Mini-Album of 8 titles acclaimed by critics (Les Inrocks, Booska-p, OKLM, Konbini, etc.) and which already has over 20M streams. Born from a real collaboration with the beatmakers LE SIDE team (Someone, Alois Zandry, Machyniste, producers of Aya Nakamura), this first album testifies to the diversity of the rapper's influences: evoking both the current US rap and the spirit of French cities, and combining hip-hop with repetitive rhythms, guitar riffs, and punchline imparables.
