- Karina Sofia is an emerging artist from Monterrey, Mexico. - 'La Reina del Canon', is an album concept focused on the genre of Regional Urbano. The album consists of 12 songs that will be released throughout the year. - The purpose of the project is to create a platform in which a female voice can shine in the Regional Mexican genre, creating a contemporary hybrid in which it is possible to explore the limits of this genre as well as tell an authentic and Mexican story. - It seeks to tell stories in which Mexican women can feel identified, the project focuses on touching relevant issues in the current experience of contemporary women, both Mexican and Latin American. Topics such as domestic abuse, machismo, and the constant battle that is the empowerment process of women today. - The concept of the video for the first single 'Desierto' was created by Karina Sofia, with the aim of immersing the audience in the magical world of "La Reina del Canon" through a mixture of contemporary dance, acting and experimental cinematography. . - The video was recorded in Real de Catorce, San Luis Potosi, where the participation of local women was crucial in the creation of the video. With the help of these women, among the mountains and ruins of this magical town, the character of La Reina del Canon was finally born.
