Four years after the release of his last album ''La Nuit des Longs Couteaux'', Koriass reveals his new album ''Abri de fortune (pour fin du monde)'' in which we discover the evolution of the man behind the character. The release of the album will be accompanied by a striking video clip produced by none other than the production company Moonstruhk! An album that accumulates more than 2.71 million listens on Spotify and more than 1 million listens on Apple Music since May 22, 2020. Biography Koriass: Fascinated by rap music since his teenage years, Koriass did not reach his majority when he made his debut on stage. Since 2001, the rapper is very present on the Web and develops his style by taking part in "rap battles". Gaining notoriety and multiplying collaborations, Koriass released in 2006, a first EP, Mort de rire, which easily won the favor of a public of insiders. Drafted in 2008 by the Disques 7ieme Ciel, he then devoted himself to the production of his first real album, Les racines dans le beton. Surrounded by renowned collaborators, he put forward a solid production that was well received by the critics, revealing him to a wide audience as "the rookie of the year". This first opus led to a nomination at the ADISQ and to the awarding of 2 prizes (Revelation of the year and Album of the year) at the SOBA Gala. Entitled Petites Victoires, his second album was released in October 2011 and was a top seller in Canada at the time of its release. In the fall, he was nominated in 2 categories at the ADISQ Gala (Hip Hop Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year), as well as winning the SOCAN Echo Award. The year 2013 was also characterized by several "small victories" including a place among the finalists of the Felix Leclerc Award, as well as a $25,000 prize awarded by the Francofolies de Montreal to 2 promising artists of the 2013 edition. Back in force in November 2013, Koriass presents Rue des Saules, which aptly demonstrates the extent of his talent. It is in the fall of 2014 that Koriass will finally be rewarded by the ADISQ at the First Gala, where he is awarded the Felix for Hip-Hop Album of the Year. A few weeks later, he will receive the very first Musique Urbaine award, given by SOCAN. Considered one of the leaders of Quebec rap, Koriass will be the first rapper to receive a nomination in the prestigious Male Performer of the Year category at the 2017 ADISQ Gala. In the fall of 2018, Koriass returns in force with La Nuit des Longs Couteaux, a new album as powerful as ever, combining the sought-after melodies with the scathing words that characterize him. Presenting this new opus during two complete launches at the Imperial Bell in Quebec City and at the MTELUS in Montreal, Koriass announced an additional show at the MTELUS a few months later, in addition to launching his tour across Quebec. In 2019, Koriass dominates the nominations at the ADISQ with 7 mentions, including Album of the Year - Rap, Author or Composer of the Year, Video of the Year (Five to Seven), Cover of the Year, Sound Recording and Mixing of the Year, Recording of the Year and Sound of the Year. He also received a new nomination at the JUNOS for Francophone Album of the Year. In 2020, Koriass returns with a new project Genies en Herbe in collaboration with Quebec rapper FouKi with whom he has already collaborated several times. He also won a SOCAN award in the category of Francophone Popular Songs of the Year with his single Lendemain at the 2020 SOCAN Gala. In 2021, he launched his single Epitaphe with none other than Sarahmee and Souldia! Epitaphe is a song that puts forward what is at the base of rap: the ego trip, the construction of striking lines, confidence and collaboration. Alongside these two artists, Koriass is a member of the jury for the show La fin des faibles broadcast on Tele-Quebec.
