This album was written in the darkness - through destructive relationships, a lover's struggle with addiction, idealizing emotionally unavailable partners, and separation anxiety. It seemed appropriate to title it Vanta Black, as this is the blackest manmade pigment, absorbing 99.96%% of light. (Vanta Black is currently under exclusive license to artist Anish Kapoor's studio.) Throughout the creation of this album, I have been struggling to find a way to put myself first, rather than the needs of another. Within the loneliness of self reflection, and the company of analog synthesizers I have been able to find some light in the dark.
