Stories Around The Camp PhireSavior Monroe, Kyo
I grew up on the westside of Detroit Michigan. Tireman, Joy Rd Livernois area. I also lived on the eastside, Gratiot Van Dyke area. Lots of people around me did what they had to do to survive and they always knew me for writing and rappin since we were younger. As I got older I began recording and eventually invested in my own studio. From there I started Camp Phire Connection which started off as a group and then became a company. I've done projects and put mixtapes out in the past but this particular project Stories Around the Camp Phire is like an autobiographical album. It tells the story of how I came up and all the ups and downs I've been through dealing with the music scene and trying to build Camp Phire. It touches on performing, travelling, money, the drive, the grind, betryal, infidelity, and the struggle as well as where i plan to go with my company and brand. Very personal peice of work for me. On the production end I got most of the ideas from a friend of mine known as Ethos the Good. He took old jazz and soul r&b tracks and chopped them, pitch shifted them and rearranged them. Then I'll take what he came up with and eq it to give it a more gritty feel while simultaneously bringing out the drums and basslines. The result was something magical. Lots of familiar samples, but some are rarely used. The point of the project is to add balance to the game. Taking something old, turning it into something new and bringing all people together rather young or old. Also to give people a direct look into my personal life, hoping my experiences can help someone get through their hardships and struggles. My Stories Around the Camp Phire will accomplish that. #Motivation
