DirtyM.F.S: OBSERVATORY
Late April sees the return of M.F.S: Observatory to Hector Couto's Roush, whilst label regulars Los Pastores and Javi Bora step up on remix duties. Observatory Music bosses M.F.S: Observatory have emerged as notable talents within the worlds of House and Techno through their releases on the likes of W&O Street Tracks, Alphahouse, and Little Helpers, and remixes for artists including Maya Jane Coles since making their production debut in 2012. Add to the mix their widely respected label Observatory Music, which has served as a home for their own self released material and close colleagues since it's inception in 2016, and it's clear to see exactly why the Italian duo have become go-to producers for many of the industry's biggest names. Opening proceedings, 'Dirty' encapsulates the duo's innate ability to fluently combine elements from both House and Techno, merging crisp hats, infectious vocals, and dark menacing 303 lines, whilst 'Def Jam' maintains a similar aesthetic as cavernous kicks rumble under swirling, evolving synths. Los Pastores' interpretation of 'Dirty' opens the second half of the package and sees the Spanish duo build upon the original's acid elements to introduce a fresh bassline and rich stabs throughout. Last up, fellow label favourite Javi Bora's remix of 'Def Jam' is a brighter affair, shifting the emphasis towards shuffling percussion patterns and skipping hats to round out the EP in fine fashion. M.F.S: Observatory 'Dirty' is out on Roush on 30th April 2018.
