CROWDED ISOLATION is a collection of short stories, conversations and observations set in the contemporary urban settlement that we call the city. In this collection the writer is a city dweller at once suffering the angst of the worst of urban living and a voyeur peeping into the lives of those who struggle to psychologically and socially survive. The lyrics speak to quality of life in the city of a million stories, where one can feel so isolated and alone despite the crowded streets and the commuter grid-locked in the cockpit of his automobile. Although the stories in this collection may at times seem dark by themselves, as a collection they actually convey hope and possibility. The genre of this Bray collection hearken back to the R&B and Soul days of Motown when lyrics came vocally dressed in sweet musical emotion and complexity of feelings when one could truly contemplate the words and imagine their source.
