AgoraAl Right
It is under the name of Indepanda that Alexis Rivest entered the alternative rap scene in 2007. In 2014, he left his native Lanaudiere, innumerable mixtapes in his pocket; Al Right arrives in Montreal, ears full of Kendrick Lamar, James Blake and The Weeknd.
Her songs, far from bling bling cliches, draw a vivid and transcendent portrait of Generation Y, her lost loves and the society through which she makes her way.
The artist, influenced by J Cole and Travis Scott, goes from rap to song with aplomb, his homemade beats sometimes explosive, sometimes hovering inevitably taps to the head.
"With a sometimes dark sound and sometimes rather playful, Al Right creates an R & B meets electro atmosphere reminiscent of James Blake's downtempo soul, all accompanied by his beautiful deep voice, which at first listen sounds like very distinctive of the talented King Krule. "-The Little Manies
There are never too many at Al Right: among his collaborators are The Holy (Olivier Lamontagne, from C'est Beau Handwork) and Beatrix Methe (Les Poules a Colin). Whether offering an imaginary featuring with Tupac or remixing S Club 7, music is above all a playground for the artist, who creates with humility and unpretentious.
Unique in the Montreal scene, Al Right defies gangsta rap and brings a new breath to the Quebec music scene.
