Noctilux Collective

Release of the week
Ghosts EP2222
As a collective and a label, Noctilux has constantly been in search of artists and sounds that propel their aesthetic to the forefront of boundary, pushing those boundaries into unexplored terrain. Never defined by genre, Noctilux releases are more of a mood, as their artists' influences are vast and never singular. NCT019 sees Noctilux Collective joining forces with Vancouver-based artist 22:22 for a five-track journey through sonic landscapes. The Ghosts EP is dark, almost industrial at times, with driving rhythms that hint of dim, sweaty night clubs in faraway lands. All three originals on Ghosts speak to the influence of global dance music culture, illustrating the fact that 22:22 started his musical journey in the melting pot of the U.K.'s rich history of electronic music. "Crusade" sets the tone of the Ghosts EP, showing the listener 22:22 is not your standard bass music producer, comfortable to sit within the constricts of genre, but is more than willing to play with categorization and cadence while maintaining a sound that is distinctly his own. Among the five tracks on Ghosts are two remixes. Calgary's OpenEnd and Edmonton's Kiytek both complement the sounds of 22:22 while maintaining their own distinct identities. OpenEnd brings a bass flavour of Bristolian undertones while Kiytek gives a grittier feel to "Under." Ghosts will be available on all platforms February 1st, 2019
